Donny Mills began this business by himself at 33 years old shortly after moving to Liberty Village in Toronto. Having already worked as a plumber for more than 10 years, Donny began helping neighbors in the area in his spare time. He noticed a need for reliable, transparent, and efficient plumbing services and realized the foundations for a business to come. By using social media and word of mouth, the news of a reliable plumber in the neighborhood spread, and Donny became increasingly busy. For two years, he worked seven days a week, 12 hours a day, as he juggled working a full time union job alongside a fast-growing plumbing operation. In the beginning of 2018, Donny made the bold decision to risk it all as he quit his stable union job and took the leap to focus all his energy into running his small business. By the age of 20 he was leading a franchise company where he grew sales by 225% in just one year. In 2015, he co-founded Breakthrough Academy as a way to open horizons for other contracting entrepreneurs. Breakthrough Academy works with over 400 contractors across the continent, managing over $1.2 billion worth of revenue, and was rated Canada’s 213th fastest growing company by The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business in 2021—their fourth consecutive year on a national growth list.

Is Jobber PD Day for me?

If you’re a leader in a home service business (owner, manager, lead admin, etc.) then Jobber PD Day is for you. This event is for both Jobber customers and non-customers.

Why should I attend? What will I learn?

We built Jobber PD Day to provide business leaders with actionable advice and new strategies to implement across the People, Profit, and Process areas of the business—you choose what sessions to attend based on your business goals and challenges. Networking with other business owners is also a huge part of Jobber PD Day so you can learn from as many other business leaders as possible, and build a community of other business leaders to consult with long after the event wraps.

Do I have to be there live? Will recordings be available after?

We recommend attending live so you get the most out of the event, join in on the live chat during sessions, and enjoy the live networking with other home service business professionals. Yes, the majority of the sessions will be available as recordings after the event but some will only be available for a limited time. To ensure you get full access, please make sure you register for the event as we’ll be sending an email out after the event with a link to the recordings so you can watch (or rewatch) the sessions!

How do I log into the event and ensure a smooth experience?

Once you register for the event you’ll receive a link via email which you’ll use to get in on the event day—February 16, 2022. We’ll also send you a reminder with this link a few days before the event. The event will work best on Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, so we recommend you use these browsers.
